Search & Rescue Dog, Kobuk.
A German Shepherd Dog, from York, ME. Kobuk located a missing elderly woman with dementia who had been lost for more than 2 days. With nearly 150 people searching for her, Kobuk’s nose suddenly found the trail and he took off for 2/10 of a mile until he came sprinting back, alerting his handler to the missing woman. He is an amazing ambassador for search & rescue teams.
Guide/Hearing Dog, Hook.
A mixed breed from Sacramento, CA. Hook has saved his hearing impaired handler from an oncoming train as well as a home invader. Good things do come in small packages.
Therapy Dog, Mango.
A mixed breed from Las Cruces, NM. Mango works with disabled veterans, educates the public on PTSD & started a program to help other animals in need of wheelchairs.
Emerging Hero Dog, Hooch.
A French Mastiff, from Tehachapi, CA. Hooch was once a severely damaged dog in need of rescuing. Now he works closely with autistic, special needs, & abused children, showing them that strength comes from within.
