Out of all the wonderful Freekibble Cares' Causes we've featured, this one means to most to us. The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary will honor the memory of Catherine Violet Hubbard, one of the first graders killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT on December 14, 2012. In her short life, Catherine did whatever she could for animals. This big hearted 6-year-old girl created business cards for her pretend animal shelter, "Catherine's Animal Shelter", and listed herself as "Care Taker." She would whisper to every animal, "Tell all your friends that I am kind." Catherine will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, compassionate spirit and love of all creatures.

The mission of Catherine's Rescue Barn is to rescue and heal injured, sick and displaced animals… and provide a safe haven for animals in need, where they'll have a loving home for the remainder of their days. Please consider helping fulfill Catherine's innocent and pure dream by turning her pretend shelter into a real one!

You can help build a rescue sanctuary to honor Catherine! Just $15.00 will pay for one square foot of Catherine's Rescue Barn.

Mimi and Aspen

For as long as I can remember, my main passion in life has been animals. I started freekibble.com and freekibblekat.com, in 2008 to help feed shelter pets. To-date, we've donated over 12 million meals to homeless dogs and cats across the country. In large part, this has been possible because of the amazing support of the Freekibble Community. All the dedicated people that play the trivia to help feed homeless pets, proves that together we can make a big impact in the world of homeless dogs and cats. Now, to try and help even more animals in need, we're launching a new project called, Freekibble Cares. We'll be choosing new causes to feature each month focused on helping improve the lives of all different types of animals. The ultimate goal of Freekibble Cares is to showcase groups doing important work for animals and to help support them. Please take a look at our featured causes and support them if you can. 100% of your donation goes directly to the cause… it all makes a difference!

Thanks so much,
Mimi Ausland
