Catherine’s Rescue Barn – In Memory of Catherine Violet Hubbard

CatherineOut of all the wonderful Freekibble Cares’ Causes we’ve featured, this one means to most to us. The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary will honor the memory of Catherine Violet Hubbard, one of the first graders killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT on December 14, 2012. In her short life, Catherine did whatever she could for animals. This big hearted 6-year-old girl created business cards for her pretend animal shelter, “Catherine’s Animal Shelter”, and listed herself as “Care Taker.” She would whisper to every animal, “Tell all your friends that I am kind.” Catherine will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, compassionate spirit and love of all creatures.

CatherineThe mission of Catherine’s Rescue Barn is to rescue and heal injured, sick and displaced animals… and provide a safe haven for animals in need, where they’ll have a loving home for the remainder of their days. Please consider helping fulfill Catherine’s innocent and pure dream by turning her pretend shelter into a real one!

You can help build a rescue sanctuary to honor Catherine! Just $15.00 will pay for one square foot of Catherine’s Rescue Barn.

For as long as I can remember, my main passion in life has been animals. I started Freekibble.com in 2008 to help feed shelter pets. To date, we've donated over pieces of kibble to homeless dogs and cats across the country. In large part, this has been possible because of the amazing support of the Freekibble community.

Freekibble Cares features causes each month focused on improving the lives of all different types of animals, showcasing groups doing important work for animals and asking that people support them. 100% of your donations go directly to that cause … it all makes a difference!
